Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plans 2027: Plans, Prices and Discounts

Reviewed by Russell Noga, Licensed Medicare Insurance Broker (all 50 states) — Last updated October 30, 2026

Mutual of Omaha sells Medicare Supplement Plans A, F, G, N and the high-deductible versions of F and G in every state except Massachusetts, and it is rated A+ (Superior) by AM Best. For 2027 the coverage is set by Medicare rules, so what you are really choosing is Mutual of Omaha’s price, its household discount and how its premiums rise with age.

Mutual of Omaha is one of the largest names in Medigap, and many people searching for a 2027 policy see its quotes first. The name on your policy may not say “Mutual of Omaha” at all, though. The company sells through several insurance subsidiaries, and the one you get depends on your state.

This guide covers which plans it sells, who actually issues the policy, how its pricing works, and where its premiums land on an official state rate chart. To see how the plan letters differ, use our 2027 Medicare Supplement comparison chart.

Which Mutual of Omaha Company Issues Your Medigap Policy

Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement plans 2027 at a glance: rating, discount, plans and states

Mutual of Omaha writes Medicare Supplement coverage through a family of companies. Its disclosure page lists Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company, United of Omaha Life, United World Life and Omaha Insurance Company among them, each licensed in a different set of states and each responsible for its own policies.

United World Life. The name on New Jersey’s official 2026 Medigap chart, listed as “a Mutual of Omaha Group” company.

Omaha Insurance Company. The issuing company on Connecticut’s 2026 rate list. It is not licensed in several states, including California, Florida and Pennsylvania.

Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company. Licensed in every state and listed under its own name on New York’s community-rated chart.

Why it matters: When you look up rate history or complaints on your state insurance department’s website, search for the subsidiary named on your application, not just “Mutual of Omaha.”

Minnesota and Wisconsin use their own state plan designs. For a closer look at the most popular choice, see our Medicare Supplement Plan G 2027 guide.

How Mutual of Omaha Prices Its Policies

1

Attained-age rating. In most states your premium is based on your current age, so it rises as you get older, on top of any company-wide increases.

2

One change per year. The carrier’s highlight sheet says rates adjust once a year on your policy anniversary, with a 12-month rate guarantee in between.

3

Household discount. The same sheet lists a 7%, 10% or 12% household discount in most states. Illinois, for example, moved to 12% in 2021 and allows it for married applicants living with a spouse even if only one person buys.

4

No policy fee. Mutual of Omaha does not add a policy fee and lets you choose your premium due day.

Rate history check: In an April 2025 Rhode Island filing, Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company requested an average 12.4% increase, including 20% on its Plan G form, for 328 policyholders. The approved amount may differ, but it shows why yearly increases matter as much as the starting price.

Our math: a 65-year-old New Jersey man would pay $63.71 a month, or $764.52 a year, more for Mutual of Omaha’s Plan G than for the lowest-priced Plan G on the chart. For a woman the gap is $50.41 a month. The ranking shifts by gender, which is why a quote for your own age and sex matters more than any national average.

Extras and Fine Print Before You Apply

Member perks. Carrier materials list discount programs such as hearing aid and vision discounts and a wellness program. These are perks, not insurance benefits.

Separate dental. Dental insurance is sold separately, with a multi-policy discount in some states.

Underwriting outside open enrollment. After your six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period, Mutual of Omaha can ask health questions and decline or price you differently.

If you are comparing several carriers, our best Medicare Supplement plans 2027 guide explains how to weigh price, rate history and discounts, and our Wellabe Medicare Supplement plans 2027 page shows a competitor on the same New Jersey chart.

Bottom Line

Mutual of Omaha offers every major Medigap plan in 2027 except where state rules differ, backed by an A+ AM Best rating and household discounts of up to 12%. On New Jersey’s official chart its Plan G is mid-to-high priced while its high-deductible G is near the bottom, so compare its quote against several companies for your exact age and ZIP code.
